Three More Fellowship Events Planned for CMA Chicago

Members of CMA Chicago will have a range of fellowship events through the end of the year, courtesy of the Activities Committee. Save the date for the next one, the Halloween Parade Meetup, on October 31 naturally. (CMA Kickball planned for September has been cancelled.)

This will be followed by CMA Game Night, currently scheduled for November 17, a get together for board games and good times. The year closes out with a bang, with CMA Chicago’s 20th Anniversary Celebration on December 16.

This year events have featured free fun, fellowship, and lots of laughs in sober settings with addicts from all the CMA meetings in Chicagoland. Recent events have included Spring Sing Karaoke Night in May, a post-parade Pride Potluck Sunday in June, and a Beach Day earlier this month.

Fellowship is an important part of recovery, allowing us to share and bond—connection is the opposite of addiction!

Having a fellowship means creating a new environment for yourself. Fellowship makes some of the “work” of recovery less difficult by giving you people to rely on and discuss it with. A strong group can give you a sense of purpose and belonging, which is helpful when you’re going through your unique recovery journey.
